Hi Diana,
Wow! This is even more beautiful and comprehensive than I could imagine. Congratulations! What a joy to read… you are such a good writer, after all… what great info.
My one disappointment was that you chose only the negative part of the Time Magazine article about EcoVillage at Ithaca (a part which, I admit, was very annoying). However there were some very positive parts in the article, including the quote “a clean, green village hoping to show the rest of us how to live a fully modern life while reducing our environmental footprint to little more than a tiptoe.”
Anyway, kudos for a very exciting newsletter which I'm sure I’ll continue to learn from and enjoy. Thanks so much for doing this!

The newsletter looks fantastic! How has the response been so far? I've just given it as a “suggested reading” link for a Simon Fraser University class on sustainable housing, recommended it to the Advisory Board of the Ecovillage Network of Canada, and will be putting it on our website and sending it to Yarrow Ecovillage email lists today. Hopefully you will see a small bump in readership.

Great newsletter and about time too!!
Peak Oil, climate change issues, and food security issues/prices are biting here and the interest in living more sustainably is growing.
Here in Christchurch, New Zealand we have addressed this through the transition towns movement.
Perhaps I could write more about this for your newsletter sometime. I am a professional planner with a history of community activism for greater sustainability. My PhD research was on ecocities and ecovillages.
